Newborn Baby Photo shoot Glasgow

Naked baby sleeping.

I would like to share with you all a recent newborn baby photo shoot that I did a few weeks ago. As a photographer who does not have a high street studio. I almost always shoot on location. This means using peoples own homes, gardens, parks or any outdoor space. My newborn baby photography Is no different.

The following images were taken In a customers house. The living room itself was fairly small, so these pictures can show you what is possible In your own home. I have a portable studio set up that I use which includes backdrops, lights and props. I don’t need much room at all to get great results. It helps that newborn babies are tiny and can not move much.

I started off by shooting the baby on It’s own.

Next I got pictures off the dad with baby. He was wearing a black T shirt so I shot them both against a dark background. I love how you can just see dads head, arms and the baby.

I can’t decide If I prefer these shots In colour or black and white. What do you think?.

Next I got mum In to complete the family. Again she was wearing a black t shirt which I think looks fantastic.

Lastly we tried to get just dad holding baby with one arm. These shots sometimes work, sometimes they don’t. This time It worked brilliantly. Helped by the fact dad has really strong arms and tattoos to match.

The benefits of getting newborn baby pictures done In your own home are:-

You don’t have to pack up everything that you need to travel with a baby.

No travelling across town.

No parking.

Takes less time.

The costs to the customer are lower as I don’t have the overheads of running a studio.

The best time to take photographs of a newborn baby are within the first two weeks after they are born. This way their muscles have not developed and they haven’t started teething yet. For the best chance of getting a booking at this crucial time, please book your shoot early before your baby Is born.
