Wedding Photography Blog, Paul and Joanne
At the end of summer last year, I was honoured to be asked by one of my friends to be the photographer at his wedding. I always put a lot of pressure to do a great job when I’m asked to cover a wedding. I was feeling the pressure even more so with this one as It was someone I’ve known for a long time. They are a great couple and they had booked a really good venue so I knew It was going to be a fantastic day.
I got to the brides house on the morning of the wedding. As you can imagine with the bride, bridesmaids, flower girl and other family members getting ready, the scene was hectic with everyone getting ready. After a brief introduction I got started taking pictures. As everyone was so busy, they hardly noticed me as I snapped away. I find these kinds of pictures always turn out really well as they are very natural and candid. There was lots going on and everyone was In a good mood so I got some great pictures. Before I left there was some time left to take some posed shots In the garden as well.
I think Joannes dress was absolutely stunning. It was made by Reeta Fashions, check them out http://www.reetafashions.com.
The service took place at St Brides Church, In Cambuslang. The weather was bright and slightly overcast which was perfect for pictures. I did the majority of the group pictures here as there was a lovely garden outside that was perfect.
After the service we went to the reception which was at Dalziel Park Hotel & Golf Club, Motherwell. This is where I took most of the pictures of the bride and groom. There was a lovely garden outside and the light was perfect for pictures.
The entertainment for the evening reception was taken care off by The Cartel (http://www.thecartelmusic.com/) and Blue Parrot (http://www.blueparrotcompany.com/dance-floors-for-hire/), supplied the LED dance floor which looked amazing during the first dance.
Overall It was a fantastic day and one of the best I have had the pleasure to cover.
