Wedding of Cheryl and Brian
Hamilton Park Racecourse, Hamilton
Last September I was asked by Cheryl and Brian to cover their wedding at the amazing Hamilton Park Racecourse. Weather permitting, this was to be my first outdoor wedding service and I couldn’t wait. As the day approached I nervously watched the weather forecast, as It got closer my nerves eased as It started to look more and more like the weather was going to be great on the day.
Cheryl and her thirteen bridesmaids were getting ready at the Bothwell Bridge Hotel after staying there the night before. Yes, you read that right, thirteen bridesmaids!. When Cheryl told me about her plans for her bridesmaids combined with the great venue I knew there would be some great possibilities for pictures.
As you can imagine with that many bridesmaids getting ready, It was a very hectic morning. Luckily they all managed to spare five minutes to go outside and have some fun taking pictures. I then left them all and headed to the wedding venue.
Calm Before The Storm
When I arrived at the venue, It looked fantastic. The sun was shining, the lawns looked immaculate and the weighing room, where the service was taking place looked beautiful.
The groom, best man, ushers and page boy arrived and they were all looking sharp In their kilts.
Next the bridesmaids arrived In a stretched Limo, followed by the bride, her dad and her daughter who was the flower girl. By this point everyone was waiting for them in the area outside the weighing room. The setting for the service was absolutely stunning. I took loads and loads of pictures as everywhere I looked there was another great angle or detail to cover.
The service was beautiful, emotional at times with lots of laughs as well. Cheryl looked like she was going to burst as she was so happy.
The Bride and Groom
The racecourse provided loads of opportunities for pictures of the bride groom. Cheryl and Brian were a lovely couple and made my job really easy, as they were up for any of the ideas I had. It was a pleasure working with them and I was really pleased with how the images turned out.
The Evening Reception
As with everything during the day, the evening reception had loads of things for me to work with. From the LED illuminated dance floor, along with the large love sign at the side of the room, the marquee looked amazing and was a great setting for the night time activities.
So that was my first outdoor wedding and I loved It. Not many people are brave enough to have an outdoor wedding In Scotland, so I applaud Cheryl and Brian for being so brave. They pulled It off In spectacular fashion and I would like to thank them for asking me to cover their special day.
